Program Description

The Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) course introduces students to the foundations of early childhood development, childcare, and early learning environments. It focuses on understanding how young children grow, learn, communicate, and develop important social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills during their early years.

Students explore the role of an early childhood educator assistant in supporting children’s everyday learning experiences while working under the guidance of qualified early childhood educators. The course introduces age-appropriate learning activities, positive behaviour guidance, classroom organization, child safety, and the importance of creating inclusive and welcoming environments.

Through guided learning and practical examples, students develop an understanding of how play, creativity, communication, and positive relationships contribute to children’s development.
